Britannia Choral Society

Britannia Choral Society

Welcome

Britannia Choral Society is a mixed choir based in the beautiful coastal town of Dartmouth in Devon.

The choir normally performs two or three concerts a year: one or two in November or December and one in March or April. We rehearse weekly in St. Clement's Church, Dartmouth between September and Easter. Our repertoire ranges from the 17th to the 21st centuries with an emphasis on music that is fun to sing and which pleases our audiences.

We look forward to welcoming you as as a singer or in the audience.

News

For our spring concert, on Saturday 16 March in St. Clement's Church, we joined with Dartmouth Orchestra to present a festival of local community music-making. Assisted by three young choral scholars from Exeter University Chapel Choir, we presented a programme of music mostly from the classical period, including Mozart's much-loved motet Ave Verum Corpus, Schubert's Mass in G and Mozart's Symphony no. 41 “Jupiter”.

We start rehearsing for our autumn concert on Wednesday 11 September at 7pm in St. Clement's Church. Watch out for further details.
